Become a school bus driver:

Are you passionate and energetic about our local children? Have you ever considered becoming a school bus driver, van driver or even a driver’s aide? School bus drivers change lives, and have a positive impact on our communities. Being a school driver is the perfect flexible job for stay-at-home parents and retirees. Contact us to learn more about how you can help your community by becoming a school vehicle driver.

Perks include:

  • You can make a difference for the future; become a school bus driver, change a child’s life.
  • School bus runs are typically between 6:30- 8:00 am and 2:45-4:30 pm. Extra activity trips are typically in the afternoon and some weekends.
  • You’ll be paid every two weeks; pay is per run, or hourly for extra activity trips.
    All costs associated with training are paid for by Mlaker.
  • You’ll be operating new, up-to-date equipment.
  • This is an enjoyable, exciting, and rewarding job getting to work with children.

Requirements include:

Must obtain a class B CDL with:

  • Air brake endorsement
  • Passenger endorsement
  • School endorsement
  • ​New drivers must obtain a pre-employment drug test, school bus/DOT physicals, criminal background, FBI check, and fingerprint check.
  • To receive a school bus endorsement, you must attend a minimum 14 hours of in class training and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training.

Get paid to travel the country!

Get on the road with Mlaker charter trips! We are looking for drivers of our charter buses.

Requirements include:

Must obtain a CDL with the following endorsements:

  • Air brake
  • Passenger

Other requirements include:

  • You must be able to drive in all types of weather conditions.
  • Conform to our dress code of shirt and tie.
  • Be able to lift luggage into bus for passengers.
  • Comply with DOT laws and regulations, including properly filling out log books, DVIR books, and all other paperwork.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time while driving.
  • Some trips require multiple days away from home.
  • You must be able to work as a team member, as part of the Mlaker Team.

Mlaker provides training. A CDL is not required for van drivers.

  • Change a child’s life by assisting them with safe transportation to school.
  • Care and comfort the student while being transported.
  • Safely secure the student their seat.

Requirements include:

  • Driver aides must obtain a pre-employment drug test, school bus/DOT physicals, criminal background, FBI check, fingerprint check, and attend Mlaker driver’s aide training program.
  • We provide free training and cover all costs associated with background checks.
